Contract Manager on EPC Projects

Given our strong growth and ambitious business plan, we are looking for a Contract Manager on EPC Projects based in Belgium or in the Netherlands. 

 

The Contract Manager for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of contracts throughout the project lifecycle. This includes contract negotiation, administration, compliance, and risk management to ensure the successful execution of EPC projects. The Contract Manager collaborates with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to safeguard the company’s interests and ensure the successful completion of projects within budget, scope, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

   Contract Development & Negotiation

  • Lead the negotiation and development of contracts for EPC projects, ensuring that contracts align with the company’s objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Analyze contract terms and conditions to identify areas of potential risk and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop contractual documents, including terms and conditions, scopes of work, and schedules.

   Contract Administration

    • Ensure proper contract administration, including timely issuance of contractual notices, management of change orders, and maintenance of contract documentation.
    • Monitor contract performance, ensuring compliance with all contractual terms and conditions.
    • Coordinate with project management teams to address any contractual issues that arise during project execution.

       Risk Management

    • Identify and assess potential contractual risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    • Work closely with the legal department and project teams to address any legal disputes or claims that may arise.

       Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate effective contract management.
    • Participate in client and subcontractor meetings, providing contractual guidance and support as needed.

       Reporting & Compliance

      • Prepare and present contract performance and risk management reports to senior management and stakeholders.
      • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to contracts.
        Qualifications
        • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

        • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in contract management, with a focus on EPC projects.

        • Strong understanding of contract law and EPC contracting models, such as lump sum, cost-plus, and turnkey contracts.

        • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

          • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

          • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

          • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
